About
A public SEO leaderboard ranked on live data. Here's the story, with accurate dates.
The Statistics
The idea
I'd come across sites like outbid.lol — leaderboards where your spot is basically for sale. It's a fun mechanic, but it means the number next to your name doesn't really mean anything except how much you spent to get there.
I wanted to try the opposite: a leaderboard where the only way up is by improving your SEO signals and mobile performance. No bidding, no backlinks for sale — just Authority, referring domains, and mobile performance, blended into one Highest Score. If your site improves, your rank improves. If it doesn't, paying us wouldn't change a thing — there's nothing to pay for. Full details on how listing works are in the terms and the privacy page.
Good to know
Is the link out real?
Yes — every listing gets a direct, crawlable link with no nofollow attribute. We can't promise it'll move your rankings, but it's never hidden behind a paid placement or a redirect.
Want your site removed?
Email info@highest.lol any time — no reason required, and it's handled promptly. See the privacy page for the details.
Is it actually free?
Yes, always. No paid tier, no bidding, no way to buy a better rank — see the rules page for exactly how ranking works.
How do I get listed?
Submit your URL and pick a category from the homepage. It's free and takes under a minute.
Recently added
DashClaw climbed from #9 to #8 today.
How it actually happened
Domain registered
highest.lol registered — just the name and the idea, nothing built yet.
Build started
First commit: a static prototype with the look and feel, no backend yet.
Became a working application
Migrated to Next.js and Supabase and shipped the submission-and-verification flow, then added self-hosted analytics and a visitor count that updates instantly instead of resetting on refresh.
Ranking data went live
Authority, referring domains, and mobile performance started feeding one composite Highest Score — the number that actually decides rank.
Domain pages and continued improvements
An accessibility and mobile pass, honest pending states, a page for every listing with its own click and score history plus a claim flow, this page, bot protection, an admin approval step, and a steady stream of smaller fixes — see the full log below.
Going live
55 hours after the domain was registered, highest.lol opened up to real traffic — starting with a push on X.

highest.lol registered. Nothing built yet — just the name and the idea.
Build started
First commit: a static prototype. No backend, no numbers — just the look and feel.
Became a working app
Migrated to Next.js and Supabase, then shipped the submission-and-verification flow — actual domains, a live database, no more placeholder data.
Analytics and live visitors
Self-hosted analytics wired up, plus a live visitor count over Supabase Realtime — not a number that resets on refresh.
Ranking data went live
Authority, referring domains, and mobile performance started feeding a composite Highest Score — the number that decides rank.
Accessibility + mobile rebuild
A full pass on focus management, keyboard navigation, and a rebuilt mobile leaderboard — not an afterthought.
Data cleanup
Honest pending states, clean brand names instead of raw page titles, restored live stat counters, a fixed favicon-persistence bug, and a PageSpeed timeout fix — live audits were taking longer than the code assumed.
Click counts and validation
PageSpeed now fetches right after email confirmation instead of waiting on the next daily refresh. Every listing shows a click count under its Visit button, and a silently-disabled submit button was replaced with an inline error.
This page, and a Trending list
This page went up with a live stats card and this timeline, then grew a "Trending" widget ranked by genuine clicks, a second sponsor slot, cross-links between every legal page, a "Recently added" list, and a rank-movement callout.
A page for every listing
Every domain got its own page with a click history chart, a Highest Score trend (one point per daily refresh), and a way to claim it. Trending's window also widened from 1 hour to 24, since it sat empty most of the time at this traffic level.
Bot protection, an approval queue, and a real-time rank
Vercel BotID on every form-backed route, a manual admin review step before a submission goes live (email verification alone used to be enough to publish, which left an opening for someone to submit a domain they don't own), a rank computed the moment a listing is approved instead of waiting on the next daily refresh, and this mobile density pass.
Going live
55 hours after the domain was registered, highest.lol opened up to real traffic — starting with a push on X.
Still shipping
Continuous fixes — the same discipline as every entry above: honest data, bugs found and fixed, nothing faked to look finished.
